Training

"Programmes" Vs. "Seminars"

Advantage is all about "Programmes", not "Seminars" or "Courses". Seminars and courses typically result in very limited change in staff behaviour or performance outcomes. Where there is no measurable behavioural change, the return on your training investment is not optimised. Participants frequently go away from seminars saying, "That was a good course". However, unless the programme includes practical skills transfer exercises to the workplace, the application of new skills and experiences will be minimal.

The strategic approach offered by Advantage involves "Programmes" designed to maximise behavioural change with work practices and performance as opposed to training, which is only part of the staff development process.

Customised programmes are developed in consultation with relevant managers so the outcomes of the intervention are aligned with organizational goals and systems. The consultation process also reviews these, plus incentives and communication systems.

Programmes are often made up of modules delivered over a period of time. This promotes application of material while participants build up competency in "bite sized chunks".

Advantage Programmes also include a Management Tool Kit, often with resources from Advantage Productions, which may include CD or DVD based review systems. The Tool Kit also includes project based assignments designed to force application in the work place. It comes with instructions for managers so that training can be properly reinforced.

Whilst seminars are done on request, the best outcomes are usually achieved through "Programmes".

Customised Training To Meet YOUR Objectives

One size does NOT fit all. That is why we are leaders in the emerging trend of favouring in house training programmes over public courses. Our clients are increasingly requesting training that is company and industry specific.

Advantage will custom design programmes to meet your specific needs. These customised programmes will promote outcomes that fit YOUR organisational objectives. Careful consultation and research prior to commencement of sessions ensures the material is relevant to your industry, your company, and your staff. Complete customer satisfaction in terms of the quality or relevance of material prepared, is maintained by allowing your management team to examine the complete workbook prior to any training. This allows you to approve the content in advance or make any additional customisation if required.
